Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning phase of a large-scale data centre project in Milan. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the commissioning of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, valves, and associated infrastructure.
• Review and verify installation, test, and commissioning documentation including method statements, test scripts, and commissioning plans.
• Support the development and execution of commissioning schedules and track progress against milestones.
• Perform site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
• Work closely with construction, design, and quality teams to resolve any issues that arise during the commissioning process.
• Manage the integration and interface of mechanical systems with electrical, controls/BMS, and fire protection systems.
• Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Produce detailed commissioning reports, test results, snag lists, and handover documentation.
• Interface with clients, third-party commissioning agents, and sub-contractors to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
• Ensure adherence to local codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements.

Requirements
Essential:
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical commissioning, preferably on mission-critical facilities such as data centres, hospitals, or pharmaceutical plants.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, and ventilation.
• Experience working in a live or high-reliability environment with Tier III or IV systems (Uptime Institute).
• Familiarity with commissioning tools and software, test equipment, and documentation standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Right to work in the EU or ability to obtain a valid work visa for Italy.
Desirable:
• Certification in Commissioning (e.g., BCxA, ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional, or similar).
• Knowledge of LEED or other sustainability certifications.
